Active Ark Ltd is an independent child care service providing residential care and crisis intervention for children and young people aged from 8 to 18+. Registered with the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care it has several small residential children’s homes situated in SW Scotland and the Scottish Borders. As a comprehensive child care service it provides quality respite, short, medium and long term residential child care with bespoke and effective family work, outreach, throughcare and independence training programmes and responsible educational provision and support, social inclusion and outdoor activities and sports.


This website is intended to provide easy access to information for child care professionals wishing to procure our services; for young people, their parents or carers who may be about to use the service; and for prospective employees who may wish to learn more about a career with us.

As a responsible care service provider we are committed to the principles of inclusion and open communication. Consequently anyone, child, parent, staff or professionals may use the feedback areas of this site to let us know what’s on their mind. Be it advice, accolade, complaint or simply an old boy or girl letting us know how they’re getting on we really want to hear from you.
