Range Of Services
Active Ark has been registered with the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care since January 2000. During that time it has provided short, medium and long term crisis care at properties in Dumfriesshire and, since 2006, in the Scottish Borders. During that time we have also developed considerable experience and skill sets in outreach and family work, both during and post placement, at our homes or in residences provided by the placing authority. Similarly we have developed independent living programmes which are individually designed for each young person and many of our older young people have achieved successful outcomes in this regard. We are enthusiastic to work collaboratively with other professionals and strive to achieve the young persons development potential and the placing authority ís moving-on plans.
Our experience of crisis intervention for approaching a decade, employing mature, dedicated and qualified staff, most of whom have had many years service with us, has enabled the development well practiced procedures and an innate understanding, on the part of management and care staff, of the important issues in the care of young people. Our stated keep it simple approach in the realm of child care is to hold boundaries in a safe, therapeutic, nurtured way which stabilises or prepares the young person whilst allowing the placing authority professionals to develop and procure their next transition.
